RARE HARDY WATERLILIES

We have a limited supply of the following Rare and Hard-To-Find Hardy Waterlily Cultivars. *

Hardy Waterlilies begin to bloom in early to mid-spring and continue to bloom until early to late autumn.  They are exceptionally vigorous plants and are quite easy to grow. Most significantly, hardy waterlilies survive all but the coldest winters, which is the single most important characteristic that distinguishes hardy types from their tropical cousins.

As a general rule, hardy waterlilies prefer 12-18 inches of water above their roots (unless otherwise noted) and most of them may be planted as deep as 24-30 inches of water above the roots. The rhizomes (roots) should be planted horizontally in containers at least 12 inches in diameter. In order for all waterlilies to bloom to their capacity, they must be placed in an area that receives full sunlight (at least 6 hours per  day) throughout the growing season unless otherwise noted. Available in white, pink, yellow, red, sunset/rosy yellow and changeables.

BRAKELEYI ROSEA

Nymphaea ‘Brackleyi Rosea’

Ellisiana - Red Hardy Waterlily

ELLISIANA

Nymphaea ‘Ellisiana’

‘Ellisiana’ was hybridized by Marliac in 1896.  The slightly fragrant, brilliant red blooms deepen as the flower ages. Flowers average 4-5 inches diameter when mature; leaves 5-7 inches. Leaves green with small purple splotches. Compact spread makes it ideal for any size pond and most tub gardens.  This variety is at its best where summer temperatures do not exceed 95 F for extended periods.

Purple Fantasy - PURPLE Hardy Waterlily

PURPLE FANTASY

Nymphaea ‘Purple Fantasy’

We are proud to add Nymphaea 'Purple Fantasy' an intersubgeneric waterlily hybrid by Florida Aquatic Nurseries to our 2016 plant selection.  Unlike the tropical waterlilies (which are the only other waterlilies that come in purple and blue) 'Purple Fantasy' is 100% winter hardy down to USDA Zone 5.  Medium spread, bronzy green leaves that reach about 5-6 inches diameter.   The flowers get to be about 3-4 inches in diameter and are a true violet purple. This is truly a very exotic and stunning waterlily!
